| Chuck Rogers enlisted in the AF in July 1951 and was a weather observer at Cold Bay, Aleutian Islands and Ardmore AFB, OK. Separated as Staff Sgt. in July 1955 and went to the University of Chicago until he re-enlisted as a A/2C in May 1958 as a weather observer at Reese AFB, TX. Chuck joined Delta FLT as a A/1C. On graduation, Lt Rogers attended Personnel Officer School at Greenville, MS, en route to Lincoln AFB, NE in personnel records and assignments. His next tour was Malmstrom AFB, MT, in 1964, on a missile crew. In 1968, Capt Rogers was selected for AFIT at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH -- earning his BSEE in 1970 and his MSEE in 1971. He then joined 42nd Civil Eng Sq at Loring AFB, ME. In 1973, Maj Rogers headed for SEA -- Korat RTAFB, Thailand (388CES). Stateside he joined HQ Command at Bolling in the Engineering Directorate. In 1974, he moved to Andrews AFB (1185CEGp). He served as Programs Dir, CE, at Hq Electronics Sys Command (1980-82). In 1982, he was named commander 819CES/HR -- Red Horse -- at Wethersfield, UK. In 1986, Chuck took command of the 1776CES at Andrews -- retiring in 1991, Colonel w/LOM, Bronze Star, 5MSM, AFCM and more. Wife, Charlene, died in 1992, he married Joan in 1993. He has 5 grandchildren, and 2 great sons. Chuck enjoys travel and photography. |
