SSgt "Larry" Potts joined Delta Flt from Barksdale AFB, LA -- a personnel
guy. He was selected by his peers Chairman, Chapel Council. After graduation,
Lt Potts attended Personnel Off Crs at Greenville, MS en route to Reese
AFB, TX. Larry was a missile launch officer at Taranto, IT for about six
months, then to Hahn AB, Germany back in Personnel. Stateside, he bootstrapped
Omaha on his way to Andrews, MD for a two-year tour. He worked in an MBA
at Oklahoma U., then went to the Pentagon with the Air Force Reserve.
Major Potts visited Norfolk for Armed Forces Staff College and headed
for Texas and AFMPC. He retired there in 1979, Lt Col w/2MSM. "Except for
missile assignments and schools, my entire career was in Personnel," Larry
writes. "I left the AF and moved to Bryan, TX with GTE (but) ended up
at Texas A&M, personnel, been there 23 years." "Charlotte has Alzheimer's Disease and has been in a nursing home for a year," he continues, "I'm raising my 13-year-old grandson, Court (the light of my life)." Larry is active in Court's scout troop management. Court's mom is married to an Army Chaplain stationed in Taegu (Larry and Court hope to visit this summer). They do some camping in their small motor home, which they "don't use enough." Larry has a daughter, 7 grandkids, 7 great grandkids and 7 more of Charlotte's which Larry claims. Sadly, Charlotte passed away on September 2, 2007. |
