| A/1C Ben Perry reported September 26, 1960. He was selected by classmates to be Delta Flight's Chapel Rep (Church Mouse). Upon graduation, 2Lt Perry was assigned to Reese AFB, Texas for pilot training. From classmates Larry Potts and Joe Grimaud: While stationed at England AFB, LA (75th Tac Fighter Sq?), Perry had to "punch out" of an A-7D over Louisiana. During air combat maneuvers the aircraft got into an uncontrollable condition. In a freak accident, he apparently clipped either the canopy or tail section of the aircraft on the way down. Purportedly, a lengthy legal battle ensued with LTV having an alleged part in Ben's death. Died Aug 30, 1974. |
