"Bob" started his AF career in '57. A/1C Nash joined Delta Flt in Sep '60. Upon graduation, Lt Nash was assigned to Reese AFB, TX for pilot training. He then completed C-124 HTTU at Altus and was assigned to Hill AFB, UT (28ATS). From '66 to '68, he was based at Incirlik AB, Turkey (TUSLOG ACP & C-118). In '68, Bob converted to HH3-E "Jolly Green Giant" enroute to Rescue in SEA (at Danang and NKP, "...most rewarding assignment in (my) entire flying career" Bob writes. "...returned seven USAF pilots to friendly territory after they were shot down in combat." In '70, Bob went back to Tinker for C-141 TTU en route to duty with 6MAS at McGuire AFB, NJ ('70-'72). In '72, Bob changed aircraft again -- T-37 -- and taught pilots at Columbus AFB, MS until 1976. After Bootstrap, Maj Nash went to Hq MAC as Stan/Eval team boss. He retired, LtCol, in '80. After AF, Bob worked for FlightSafety International/St Louis (simulator and flight instr), moved with the company to Marietta, GA in '81. Retired again in 2002. Bob and Janice (wife of 48 yrs) are "... enjoying life...doing voluntary church projects -- landscaping and painting -- and being with our grandchildren whenever we can," they say. Both have some health concerns and "...wish we could be there to see the members of (61C)...our best to all."
