OCFC Donald L. Klausen
| Staff Sergeant Donald Klausen joined Coca Flight that fall of 1960 wearing aircrewmember wings and multiple Good Conduct Medals. On graduation 2Lt Klausen was assigned to Laredo AFB, Texas for Undergraduate Pilot Training. Much of this information comes from Bill LaRock and his contact with 3 of Don's sons. Don enlisted in 1950 or 1951, flew combat in Korea as an enlisted crew member, married Leota in 1955 or 1956 and attended OCS on an age waiver (he was born Oct of 1932). Left the AF 1963 or 1964 sometime after pilot training. He wound up with 7 kids; he died in 1992 of pneumonia. Leota passed away in 2001. The boys say he rarely talked about the Air Force but did on occasion tell his grandkids that he had been an Air Force pilot. |
