| SSgt Bill Kissler joined Coca Flt Sep 1960. In Dec, OC Capt Kissler moved to Wing as an Asst Dir of Material. Bill graduated in the top third of our class and Lt Kissler attended Radar Officer School at Keesler AFB, MS. Wife, Rheta, and two young sons joined him there. Six other shavetails were there also. After Biloxi, Comm Officer Bill was assigned command of Det 1, 1945 Comm Sq at Wunstorf Germany, where he worked "... then top secret comm into Berlin from North and Central Corridors," Bill writes, "...a great first assignment." Stateside it was Univ of Maryland, bootstrap and then to Scott in the new AFCS. After 3 years, Maj Kissler toured north to Toronto as an Exchange Officer with CAF. He attended Canadian Forces Staff College, earned a Masters and moved to Canadian Forces HQ at a Staff Officer. In 1972, Bill went to AFIT at WrightPatt followed by a 4-year Pentagon tour. With 24 years in and the kids settled in, LtCol Kissler decided against another PCS and retired in Virginia. "Years followed as a Beltway Bandit...in various capacities with industry...running two mfg companies as VO Ops...returned to Bozeman, MT." Rheta "...is active in Real Estate...I retired about 2 years ago." They have 2 sons and 4 grandchildren. |
