A/1C Bill King had his Bachelors degree when he joined Coca Flt in Sep. 1960. He finished OCS in the top quarter of our class and was assigned to Lackland as a training officer. Lt. King earned a Masters (Educ) at St. Mary's Univ. while at Lackland. "In Dec 1963 I went to Tachikawa AB, JP for a series of assignments in training and personnel. I returned in 1967 for an AFROTC assign to Howard Univ in DC, followed by Systems Command duty at Andrews," Bill writes. He earned his doctorate and "...became something of a guru on substance abuse prevention and equal opportunity." He had a tour in Taiwan and returned to the Pentagon as head of the AF Social Actions program (for 4 years). Bill was promoted to LtCol in the secondary zone. He then spent 2 years in USAFE spear-heading drug prevention programs in NATO. "I returned to Andrews as base exec and defacto deputy base commander. After 2 years at Bolling, I went to OSD...a think tank...where I retired." Bill says. Afterwards he "...started an international trade company ...sold concessionaire equipment ... " and is now "...a full-time grandpa." He and Vera (wife of 46 years) have 2 girls and four grandchildren.
