| Dick Kahane graduated OCS fourteenth in the class and was assigned to McClelland AFB, CA as Wing Intelligence Officer/552nd AEW&C Wing. Lt Kahane was reassigned to Hq USAF in 1962 and released from active duty in Mar 1963. He took up with the active reserve and had various active duty tng tours in CONUS and abroad for the next 25 years. Dick retired, a LtCol, in 1987. "Following my release from active duty, I joined the Foreign Service, where I spent the next 30+ year," Dick writes. "...assignments included Kinshasa, Algiers, Paris, Conakry (Guinea) Prague, London, Dakar, and Paris, again." He attended NWC (class of '83). Retiring from government service in 1995, he taught computer applications and freelanced technical editing of several computer books. "I retired 'for real' a couple years later and since...have been doing some travel (including Tahiti, Australia, and Antarctica)," he says, "and basically kicking back." |
