| A/2C "Roger" Carroll was a financial tech at Dyess AFB, TX before OCS. Upon graduation, Lt Carroll stayed at Lackland with the 3720th BMTS. He married Maria Leon in 1961, with a squad of 61-C grads providing the pomp/ceremony. In '64, Lt Carroll PCSd to Okinawa, and in 1967, attended SOS at Maxwell. From 1967-68, he served as ROTC instructor at U of Georgia (his home state) and followed that with duty at the Air University, Maxwell. 1975 to 1977, Major Carroll served on SOS's staff. From 1977- 81, LtCol Carroll served at Kelly AFB, TX's Electronic Security Cmd. His last tour was at Wright/Patterson AFB with AFLC. Colonel Carroll retired in 1984 with LOM, Bronze Star, 3 MSM and more. Roger says he has two children, 3 grandchildren -- had 3 wives (three time losers in California get life w/o parole!). Colonel Carroll is still wearing the uniform as AFJROTC honcho in Riverside, CA. For over a decade he and his corps has received many accolades. He says he's quitting next year, going back to TX and play golf every day until. I played a round with Rog back at Lackland and he shot a 70! So, Texans, keep your hand on your wallet. |
