| "Bud" Brownfield -- Wing Bugler. World's finest navigator. Magazine editor, 53MAS Ops Officer, Osan Air Base Commander. High School to Masters degree (thanks AF) Retired 1985, O-6. Presently, used car dealer. Bud SIEed college, married Shirley and joined the Air Force in 1956 -- Basic Tng in Flt. 160, Parks AFB, CA, Water Purification School at Ft Belvoir, VA (reduced to A/B for running a stop sign on post), assigned to Lake Charles AFB, LA in Insect and Rodent Control. "A/3C reinstated when I removed a dead skunk from beneath Wing Hqs.", K-6 Water Works, Korea, 1957. "I became janitor at SAC Hq, 1958, and was so good at that, they sent me to OCS. After OCS, Bud had assignments to Lackland, JCAFB, Charleston, Norton, Scott, Osan and McGuire. Bud has nearly 8,000 flying hours, 200 pilot hours (Champion Citabria), 120 combat missions (airlift command-o), an LOM, 2 MSM, 3 AM, 4 AFCM and a letter from Harry Reasoner. The same 3 kids we had at OCS plus 5 grandkids -- "a great source of pride." Bud's smash hit CD, "MACman" has sold over 100 copies. |
